• Police arrest woman who tried to enter Monticello High School with a gun (augustafreepress.com) — A Madison Heights woman was arrested after a firearm in her purse was detected as she tried to enter Monticello High School in Albemarle County on Tuesday morning. Police say the weapon was secured quickly, she was taken into custody without incident, and school operations were not disrupted. Charges include possessing a firearm on school property and a concealed carry violation.
