• City bans trucks on two rural corridors (suffolknewsherald.com) — Suffolk City Council has unanimously banned through truck traffic on parts of Manning Road and Arthur Drive after a safety study found 48 crashes and roads too narrow for heavy vehicles. The new restrictions, based on resident complaints and engineering analysis, push trucks onto major routes like Route 13, Whaleyville Boulevard, Copeland Road, U.S. 58 and Loomis Road instead.

• Suffolk peanut project aims to bring peanut sculptures to every borough in the city (wtkr.com) — A new public art effort is underway to place peanut sculptures in every Suffolk borough and village, celebrating the city's peanut heritage and scenic trails. The Suffolk Parks & Trails Alliance is seeking sponsors, who can select artists and designs, to expand from the first statue into a citywide attraction that's family-friendly and distinctly Suffolk-focused.
