• Vienna Oktoberfest Returns Next Month With Biggest Event Yet (patch.com) — Vienna residents can look forward to the 17th annual Oktoberfest on Oct. 3, featuring expanded food, music, kids' activities, and a bustling beer and wine garden along historic Church Street. With free admission, shuttles from Vienna Metro and Madison High, and proceeds supporting local charities, the festival is expected to draw tens of thousands from the Greater Vienna area.
   

• Fall native plant sale is this weekend in Vienna (fairfaxtimes.com) — Vienna gardeners can shop a wide selection of native perennials, shrubs, and small trees at the Town of Vienna's Fall Native Plant Sale on Sept. 19 at the Vienna Community Center. Running alongside the Vienna Farmers Market, the event also offers a free drawing for a native tree and advice on sustainable landscaping.
