• West Point's Alaina Riggs ‘Best of Show' in 2026 4th Congressional District Art Competition (cullmantribune.com) — Two Guntersville students, Ella Kate Smith and Madelyn Ketnor, earned second and third place in the drawings category of the 4th Congressional District Art Competition, highlighting local talent on a big stage. The overall Best of Show winner, West Point’s Alaina Riggs, will see her work displayed in the U.S. Capitol and receive a full Wallace State scholarship. 
• TVA president, CEO announces retirement (franklincountytimes.com) — Guntersville will host the TVA Board’s next quarterly business meeting on May 22, just weeks before TVA president and CEO Don Moul retires July 1. His departure follows a White House directive to sharply limit TVA executive pay, raising questions about who will next lead the utility that serves the Tennessee Valley, including North Alabama communities.
