Teen Suspect Sought After Fatally Shooting Ex-Girlfriend At Tuscaloosa Club

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A teenage girl was shot and killed late Friday night outside a Tuscaloosa club, and authorities are searching for her 19-year-old ex-boyfriend in connection with the killing.

Tuscaloosa Police responded around 10 p.m. Friday to a report of a female who had been shot at a club in the 1700 block of Culver Road, according to Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Marty Sellers.

The victim, who was a minor, was taken to an area hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Sellers said authorities will not release additional identifying information about the victim because of her age.

He then said investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit were called to take over the investigation and determined that the girl was attacked by an ex-boyfriend in the club's parking lot.

The 19-year-old man allegedly shot the girl before fleeing the scene.

Both the victim and the suspect were residents of Tuscaloosa County.

Tuscaloosa Police and other law enforcement agencies are continuing to search for the suspect, with federal agents also assisting in the effort.

Authorities have not released the suspect's name or additional identifying information and said no further information about him will be made public until he is located.

The investigation remains ongoing.
