1. Work Continues on Orchard Avenue Improvements (junctionnow.com) — Drivers near Grand Junction should expect ongoing detours on E 1/2 Road by Long Family Memorial Park as crews replace the Lewis Wash bridge and upgrade drainage, sewer, and stormwater systems. The wider bridge will add sidewalks and better pedestrian access, with the road expected to reopen this winter and full Orchard Avenue Safety and Connectivity Project work finishing in spring.
   

2. Intermountain Health opens physical-therapy clinic Sept. 28 (thebusinesstimes.com) — A new Intermountain Health Matchett Park Clinic inside the Grand Junction Community Recreation Center opens September 28, bringing expanded physical therapy, rehab, and wellness-focused primary care close to home. Residents will have access to aquatic therapy, sports physicals, vaccines, and free wellness classes through St. Mary's partnership with the center, helping people recover, stay active, and prevent injuries.
   

3. Top-Ranked Palisade Volleyball comes out on top against Grand Junction (kkco11news.com) — Grand Junction volleyball fans saw the Tigers swept at home by top-ranked Palisade, which extended the Bulldogs' winning streak to six matches. Grand Junction, now 8-4, grabbed an early lead before dropping three tight sets and will look to rebound in a cross-town matchup with Central next week.
   

4. Need for welders bonds RK Steel with CMU Tech (thebusinesstimes.com) — Colorado Mesa University Tech in Grand Junction has formed a new partnership with Denver-based RK Steel to create a direct pipeline from CMU Tech's welding program into high-paying welding and trade jobs. Company leaders visited campus Sept. 15 to explain wages, hours, internships, and apprenticeships, and to help tailor curriculum so local students graduate ready for in-demand positions across multiple trades.
   

5. High Desert Hues: Discovering the Queer Spirit of Grand Junction, Colorado (vacationer.travel) — Grand Junction is highlighted as an inclusive, artsy Western Slope hub where LGBTQ+ visitors can enjoy downtown's Creative District, public art, and venues like Good Judy's Bar & Club. The piece also spotlights nearby wine country, outdoor adventures at Colorado National Monument and Grand Mesa, and local favorites from coffee shops to boutique hotels that welcome diverse travelers.
