• Perry proposes millage rate rollback for 2026 (41nbc.com) — Perry is considering a 2026 property tax millage rollback that would slightly lower the rate while still increasing total city tax collections by about $663,000 due to growth in the tax digest. City Council plans to vote on the proposed 12.508 mills rate at its public meeting Tuesday, September 15, 6 p.m., at Perry City Hall on Carroll Street.
   

• Perry man sentenced to 10 years in prison in cocaine distribution case (41nbc.com) — A Perry man has been sentenced to 20 years, with 10 to serve in prison, after pleading guilty in Houston County Superior Court to cocaine distribution and illegal firearm possession. The case grew from a Perry Police Department narcotics investigation that included controlled buys, a 2024 search warrant, and the seizure of cocaine, drug-distribution materials, cash, and a stolen shotgun.
   

• 2026 Senior Games: Data Dive, Position Players (prepbaseballreport.com) — A Perry High School shortstop, Bryson Register, earned an 83 mph infield velocity ranking among the top performers at the 2026 Georgia Senior Games for 2027 prospects. The statewide showcase at LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson drew over 175 uncommitted players, with Prep Baseball Georgia sharing detailed speed, hitting, and defensive metrics for college recruiters and fans.
