Field of Honor returns to Lynchburg with 9/11 tribute (wset.com) — More than 1,100 American flags now line Graves Mill Road in Lynchburg for the 9th annual Field of Honor, honoring veterans, first responders, health care workers, and others who serve. Organized by the Rotary Club of Forest, the display will remain up for two weeks, with Taps played nightly at 7 p.m. and proceeds going back into the local community.
   

5. Gov. Spanberger announces rollout of more secure chip and tap EBT cards (wsls.com) — Lynchburg residents who use SNAP will be among the first in Virginia to receive new chip-and-tap EBT cards designed to better protect benefits from theft and skimming. Cards will be mailed automatically, so families should confirm their mailing address with local social services, then activate the card and set a PIN once it arrives to keep food assistance secure.
