• Merchants Square outdoor drinking zone opens Monday (wydaily.com) — Starting Monday, you’ll be able to stroll a block of Duke of Gloucester Street in downtown Williamsburg with a drink in hand, thanks to a new Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area pilot. The city’s yearlong program sets clear rules on cup sizes, participating businesses, and where alcohol can go, with an ABC license running through June 2027. Officials will review its impact before deciding whether to expand or end it.
