2. Durham's Duke Street will be closed a bit longer for South Ellerbe wetland project (newsobserver.com) — Drivers in Durham will face extended closures on Duke Street between West Trinity and Monmouth through Sept. 25, with West Trinity itself closing Sept. 28–Dec. 31 for utility work. 3. Durham County Data Center Moratorium Explained (soduwelikelocal.news) — Durham County leaders are weighing a nine‑month pause on most new large data centers, AI computing sites, and crypto-mining projects in unincorporated areas starting August 25. Smaller centers under 100,000 square feet could still proceed, but only with water‑saving cooling and non‑diesel backup power. The City of Durham already has a similar moratorium set to end in May.
