• E-bikes banned at Dare County Parks & Rec parks (outerbanksvoice.com) — If your kids ride e-bikes to Dare County Parks & Rec facilities used by Kill Devil Hills families, they now must walk them inside the parks. Staff will stop riders and can impose discipline, including suspension, after repeated violations, as officials move quickly to curb unsafe speeding and protect children on playgrounds, sidewalks, and fields. 
• Joseph Leon Nester (outerbanksvoice.com) — Longtime Kill Devil Hills resident and business owner Joseph Leon “Leon” Nester, 77, has passed away at his home, leaving behind family, friends, and many Outer Banks connections. He ran Outer Banks Autotech for decades, coached Dare County youth baseball, and supported Manteo High School boosters. Visitation in Manteo is set for April 20, with funeral services later in Virginia.
